Sneak Peek: Mollie and Matt Wedding

So, typically after a wedding is over, we pack up and go home. The bride and groom go off to their hotel to rest up for their upcoming travels for their honeymoon. Not so with Mollie and Matt! As a newlywed couple of creativity, Mollie and Matt asked us to come along with them to their wedding night accommodations at the famous Austin icon Hotel St. Cecilia. And this wasn’t anything risqué. Just sheer fun and mayhem as we clicked away while Mollie and Matt celebrated the end of their wedding night in their own unique way. Enjoy!

On the cover of Edible Austin Magazine

One of my favorite publications is Edible Austin. They’re a local resource for everything food-wise. I had the pleasure of working with them last December as they hosted Eat Local Week, a huge charity event that generates awareness about local growers of produce, local brewers, distillers, and everything organic in Austin. Occasionally, I get the pleasure of shooting for them for their articles. However, this last opportunity turned out to be more than a pleasure because after seeing my photos, they decided to change the cover over to my shot!

This time around, Edible Austin asked me to make a trip up to Waco, TX to photograph Chip Tate and his whiskey at Balcones Distillery. More of a wine lover, I didn’t think I had enough experience to really appreciate hand-crafted whiskey made from 100% Hopi blue corn. But I was completely blown away. A little sweet, sort of strong, and extremely smooth, their line of Baby Blue whiskey has quickly become my favorite drink. I could never do the article justice, so you’ll just have to head over to Whole Foods and pick up your copy of the new Fall issue of Edible Austin Magazine. Cheers!

Published in Rangefinder Magazine

Earlier this month, Rangefinder published their latest issue containing an interview of me about my uses of Vimeo, an online video community where I post many of my wedding slideshows as well as photography tutorials. It’s always great getting published for weddings and portraits. However, it’s especially great when you’re recognized for innovation and marketing from within your own industry! I’m very humbled and excited to have the opportunity to share my knowledge and love of Vimeo with the entire photographic community! Rangefinder magazine is a publication of WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International), which hosts one of the biggest pro photographer conventions in Las Vegas every year that I’ve had the privilege of teaching at. And a very big special thank you to the writer, Martha Blanchfield for making the interview so much fun and insightful.

Mission Sunset

I just wanted to share with you a photo I captured from a charity event yesterday for Any Baby Can at Camp Lucy. Enjoy :)

Sandra and Ryan’s Wedding

Ok, first off… I’d like to apologize. I’m apologizing for the enormous amount of images you are about to see. I couldn’t help myself. There’s just so much COLOR! I’ve done colorful weddings before, but when Mother Nature herself decides to get involved, there’s just no stopping it! Sandra and Ryan wanted to have their special day at the gorgeous Vintage Villas, while overlooking the sunset over Lake Travis. And as always, Carrie Beamer of Flora Fetish completely amazed us with her explosion of floral creations. Jen Hoover provided the expertise of makeup and hair styling. Ilios Lighting created the colorful lighting masterpiece that lit up the reception dance floor. Oh, and just to complete the package, why not an independantly owned Taco Truck to come feed the hard-dancing guests around midnight? And I couldn’t thank Brittany Jones of Premier Event Source for making sure everything went as planned :)
