It's bound to happen. After 15 years of photographing weddings and portraits, there's going to be some clients of mine who move to the next stage of their lives.
That's exactly what happened when I got the call that Caroline was getting married in the Spring of 2018. At first, my reaction was surprise and excitement. I was surprised because it only felt like it was a short while ago that I photographed Caroline and her brother Bradley's senior portraits. Then I realized that was back in 2010... eight years ago.
How did eight years already fly by? I know I've been working constantly much like other Austin wedding photographers, but eight years? I was understandably shocked, yet happy that I've been fortunate to work with the same families throughout my career.
So it was with Caroline and her soon to be husband. I've known the bride's family for years. And despite feeling a little old... I was thrilled to capture their wedding day. We were fortunate to be the first to have the wedding at the new Flintrock Falls Ballroom. It was spectacular. In fact, it was so new, just had just finished painting the day before. Talk about great timing!

With all of that being said, the best part of the wedding was getting to see friends, family, and clients from years past. It was almost like a huge reunion. I can confidently say that everyone felt right at home. It's the best you can ask for.
I just wanted to take a moment to give a special thanks to Caroline and Aaron for allowing me to be there. We kinda knew it was inevitable that I would be the one to shoot that day (at least, I hope!). But more than anything, it's because of the newly weds that the wedding was extra special.
May you both have a life full of love, compromise, empathy, commitment, and loyalty. After being married for 15 years myself, it's always your better half that actually makes you... well, better :)
