Years in the making | TFWC Mansion Wedding | Sarah and Blake
Ceremony: Grace Covenant Church
Reception: Texas Federation of Women's Clubs Mansion
At different points in our lives, we look back to see just how far we've come. Once in a while, certain moments rise to the surface reminding us where we've been.
Years ago, my family moved into a new neighborhood, making new friends, and marking a new life. Sarah's family was one of the first amongst several new encounters to our new home.
Over the years, the families in our neighborhood became one large family, enjoying each others milestones in life. Choir and band performances, football games, eagle scout ceremonies. moments piled one on top of the other.
At what point I realized this day would come, I can't remember. When did this girl, whose family went on neighborhood vacations with ours, who received her Girl Scout Gold Award, who babysat my children, who graduated from Texas A&M, become an accomplished young woman?
We've always known this day would come. When Blake would ask Sarah to become his wife, when she would walk towards him at Grace Covenant Church in a white dress. Escorted down the aisle by her father, yet coming towards Blake as her own person. To commit themselves to one another, no longer those awkward and adorable teenagers with a crush, but as man and wife.
What binds us…
Not often am I capturing a wedding where I'm an invited guest as well as the wedding photographer. Seeing all of my old friends and family brought back many happy memories for me. Catching up with old friends, hearing about new adventures, and reliving our childhood memories.
This is what weddings do to us. Sarah and Blake are the two who created this amazing experience for us all. I thank you from the depths of my being, on behalf of everyone.
Congratulations to you both. Life has already laid its way before you. All that's left is to take the first step together.
