Reason Three: There is a light

Let’s get technical for a moment. As we all know, lighting is key to getting some fantastic imagery. Instead of putting off a chance to get those glowing shots, take advantage of a nice walk in the sunlight with your loved one.

Some of the best times of day for photos is right before the ceremony. With most weddings, scheduling your First Look session just before your ceremony will provide some of the best lighting for wedding day portraits. With the sun behind you and taking advantage of that late afternoon daylight adds a little warmth and glow to your shots. By avoiding the harsh rays of sunlight directly overhead, the soft lighting effect will add a flattering look and some warmth to your portraits.

Robin, thank you so much for your kind words! Ever since we started educating our clients on the option of First Look photos, they’ve really taken a liking to it. My goal is only to inform our clients of their options, rather than to persuade them one way or the other. They really appreciate being educated on it and most of the time they go for it :)
